Press Release: Road transport – rules for admission to the occupation: Commission sends reasoned opinion to Greece

The European Commission has sent a reasoned opinion to Greece for its failure to comply with European rules on admission to the occupation of road haulage operator and passenger transport operator. This is the last step before possible referral to the Court of Justice. With the rapid growth of road transport, these rules are essential to the proper functioning of the internal market and the quality of professional transport as regards efficiency, road safety and compliance with social legislation.
