Few firms are ready for Mifid shake-up

The overhaul of the rules governing the European Union's financial services industry due to come into force in November 2007will catch many companies unprepared, with one new poll from Handysoft Global Corporation suggesting that only four in 10 financial firms will be ready. However, the survey also showed that one in ten recognised potential to turn compliance 'burden' into opportunity for wider business process improvement.
