The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) has suspended one of its MEPs, while an investigation continues into alleged financial irregularities, February 2007. Tom Wise, one of the party's 10 Euro MEPs, is being investigated by the European Anti-Fraud Office.

In November 2009 the former British MEP admitted fiddling £36,000 worth of expenses after switching his plea at his trial in the United Kingdom.
