Airbus to unveil restructuring scheme

On 20 February 2007 the European aircraft maker Airbus planned to disclose to its works council the long-awaited details of its restructuring, which for weeks had been sowing increasing uncertainty in the ranks of its 57,000 workforce and among European political leaders committed to backing the development of one of the flagships of European industry.

In the event the BBC website reported 19 february 2007 that Airbus had been forced to postpone an announcement amid disagreement between its various European partners.
