Financing provided by the European Investment Bank in Romania

After fifteen years of financing projects fostering the integration of Romania into the European Union, the European Investment Bank’s lending operations now cover all of the country’s economic sectors, ranging from basic infrastructure to manufacturing and services, including support for small and medium-sized companies through local financial institutions, and the development of a knowledge-based economy. Since 1990, the EIB’s lending in Romania has reached about EUR 4.3 billion to finance investment projects relevant for meeting EU accession criteria.
