New era at the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors will be influenced by the reforms

The 12 September 2010 constitutional amendment referendum brought about considerable change to the membership system of the appellate judiciary in Turkey. Under the new system it will be difficult to exert control over the board, thanks to its increased number of members. In other words, no external actor or figure will be able to exert pressure over the HSYK for the removal of a judge or prosecutor from office.
