Press Release: Air transport security: European Commission sends reasoned opinion to Luxembourg

The European Commission has sent a reasoned opinion – the last step before a formal complaint to the Court of Justice is lodged – to Luxembourg for failure to respect European legislation on aviation security. The aim of this legislation is to ensure common basic standards on aviation security measures at Community airports in order to prevent acts of unlawful interference against civil aviation.
