Press Release: Living Europe: a new challenge for civil society

On 18 and 19 September 2006, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) is holding its biennial conference on "Living Europe: a new challenge for civil society", at the end of EESC president Anne-Marie Sigmund's term of office. Several guests including Jacques Delors, former president of the European Commission, and Michel Delebarre, president of the Committee of the Regions (CoR), will be attending the conference, which will discuss European identity from the perspective of common values, the European social model and policies which display a European character.
