The European Commission published 13 July 2006 guidelines on how the money from the Structural Funds should be spent for the period 2007-2013, and how much would go to each Member State. The Commission says that the money should be focused on the EU's economic priorities of raising competitiveness, fostering innovation and creating jobs.
