The European Commission on 2 June 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of NBS Nordic Broadband Services AB (UPC Sweden) by private investment firms Carlyle Europe Partners II L. P. ('Carlyle') and Providence Equity Offshore Partners V LP ('Providence'). The Commission had concluded that the operation would not result in a significant impediment to effective competition in the EEA, or any substantial part of it. |
