Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the Eurogroup and Prime Minister of Luxembourg told MEPs on 30 May 2006 that euro area Member States were not doing enough to consolidate their budgets now that growth had improved. Speaking to the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee, he also backed the Commission's decision on Lithuania's application to adopt the euro and agreed that there should be no national reservation of seats on the ECB Board. |
