Press Release: Increasing transparency in scientific advice to the European Commission

To bring more transparency in the discussion of its own fisheries advisory body, the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF), the Commission and the STEFC have decided to open the latter’s meetings. As a pilot exercise, the forthcoming STECF meeting on Mixed Fisheries and fishing effort regime in recovery and management plans, on 5-9 June 2006, was to be open to members of the public with observer status.
