A draft Commission Decision to review certain measures in place due to classical swine fever outbreaks in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, over the past few months was backed by the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health on 16 May 2006. The Committee agreed that it was safe to market pig meat from pigs of a surveillance zone without a special health mark and treatment, so long as strict conditions were adhered to. |
