Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Galbani by Lactalis

The European Commission on 25 April 2006 cleared, under the EC Merger Regulation, the plan by the French group Lactalis to take over the Italian group Galbani Spa, a subsidiary of the investment fund BC partner. On completion of its market analysis, it concluded that the operation would not significantly distort effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in any substantial part of it.
