Press Release: Mergers: Commission opens in-depth investigation into China International Marine Containers’ takeover of the Burg Group

The European Commission on 13 March 2006 opened a detailed investigation under the EU Merger Regulation into the planned acquisition by China International Marine Containers ('CIMC') of the Dutch Burg Group. The European Commission’s initial market investigation had found that the proposed acquisition would raise serious competition concerns in the sector of tank containers.
