'Debate Europe' was a website launched by the European Commission in March 2006 to encourage debate amongst European citizens on the future of the European Union. Citizens are welcome to discuss 'ideas, hopes and worries for Europe's future'. The website was relaunched in January 2008. The website was archived (closed and not further updated) on the 28.02.10. Debating Europe is a separate initiative which started in 2011. It is part-funded by the European Commission's Europe for Citizens Programme but also includes other organisations such as the Open Society Foundation, Fondazione Cariplo, Google, Europe's World and Friends of Europe |
