EU urged to put more into research spending

Article looks at the recommendations in a report issued 20 January 2006 on reinforcing European Union innovation and research compiled by an EU expert group chaired by Esko Aho, the former Prime Minister of Finland. The group was set up by the European Commission following the European Council held at Hampton Court in October 2005 and asked to advise on ways of boosting the EU’s research and innovation performance.
