Press Release: EU and Mexico broaden cooperation to include employment and social affairs

Vladimír Špidla, EU Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities Commissioner, travelled to Mexico to start a new EU-Mexico dialogue on employment and social policy. The two sides will share knowledge and experiences on common challenges such as combating poverty and improving social cohesion. It is the first time the EU and Mexico extended cooperation to the social field and is a follow-up to the Association Agreement concluded in 1997.
