An in-depth report on the impact of central European workers who have moved west since the enlargement of the European Union in May 2004 is due to be published in February 2006. The report is intended to help Member States decide whether or not to lift curbs imposed on workers from eight ex-communist countries and is already dividing the European Commission. The 25 Commissioners are reported to disagree over how far the report should encourage States to lift the restrictions.
