Press Release: State aid: Commission approves IRAP tax deductions for job creation in Italy

The European Commission on 8 December 2005 authorised, under EC Treaty state aid rules, the fiscal incentives for companies adopted by Italy in the Competitiveness Decree law (14/03/2005 n. 80). The scheme was designed to provide for deductions from the Italian tax on regional productive activities (IRAP) and thus to stimulate job creation. The Commission concluded that the measure met all the conditions laid down in Regulation 2204/02 on the application of state aid rules for employment.
