Reitox is the European Information Network on Drugs and Drug Addiction, coordinated by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). Experts and policy-makers from some 30 European countries met at the EU drugs agency (EMCDDA) in Lisbon in December 2005, to explore the issue of drug prevention in hard-to-reach and high-risk groups. The Reitox Academy was followed by a three-day conference on drug addiction prevention in the EU, co-organised by the EU-DAP project and the EMCDDA. The focus of this event was the effectiveness of school-based programmes in preventing substance misuse.
