On 19.12.00 the EU and the Ukraine signed an agreement to liberalise the textiles trade between the EU and the Ukraine on reciprocal terms. Under the terms of the deal, the Ukraine will lower the level of its customs tariffs for EU textiles imports to the one applied in the EU. In exchange, the EU will lift all its quotas on textiles imports from the Ukraine. This implies that once the agreement is fully implemented early in 2001, both sides will grant each other the same treatment for their textiles and clothing imports. |
