Press Release: Over EUR300 million financial package for Ireland as phasing in period for sugar regime secured

Agreement on the reform of the EU sugar sector was reached at the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council, which took place in Brussels on 22-24 November 2005. A significant funding package, totalling around €310 million would accompany the implementation of the reforms in Ireland.
