Ofgem asks Brussels if gas price rises are linked to market abuse

The UK energy regulator Ofgem has asked the European Commission to investigate if the rises in natural gas prices could have been caused by market abuse by European suppliers or North Sea operators. Ofgem has also asked the EU to investigate whether new regulations in Spain are causing shipments of liquefied natural gas to be diverted from the UK to Spain or the United States.
