Press Release: Court of Auditors’ 1999 Report acknowledges significant support of reform efforts undertaken by the Commission

Michaele Schreyer, Commissioner in charge of the Budget, summarised the findings of the Court of Auditors' 1999 report as follows: 'The European Commission is on the right path, thanks to its comprehensive administrative reform efforts, but a lot remains to be done if it wishes to meet the high expectations which rightly exist in the field of financial management'.
