On 13.7.00 Anna Diamantopoulou, Commissioner for Employment and Social Affairs, signed in Lisbon two major training and education programmes financed by the European Social Fund for 2000-2006. With financial support of over €2,312 million, the two programmes together account for 48% of ESF funding in Portugal for the new Structural Funds programming period.
