Duisenberg: euro ‘out of line’

The president of the European Central Bank, Wim Duisenberg, has described the single currency as “seriously undervalued”, in his quarterly appearance in front of the European Parliament Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, Brussels, 12.9.00. Mr Duisenberg said the exchange rate was “clearly out of line with [economic] fundamentals”.
