Press Release: International Consumer Rights Day: Key Conference in Brussels, 15.3.00

The European Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC), in collaboration with the European Commission, organised a 'European Consumer Day' on 15.3.00 with an event in Brussels. 'Consumer and consumption' was the title of the one-day conference which provided a forum for representatives of European consumer organisations, EU institutions and economic, social and occupational organisations. In particular, the conference focused on food safety and consumer protection on the internet.
