EU tobacco ban could be dropped

The tobacco industry has won an important victory at the European Court of Justice which could see the scrapping of legislation banning cigarette advertising, as the Advocate General gives an opinion, 15.6.00, in an important case brought by four tobacco companies and the German Government. (Cases C376/98 and C-74/99)
