The European Commission has sent a 'Reasoned Opinion' to Germany for failure to implement a Court ruling stating that the 1985 Environmental Impact Assessment Directive (EIA) was not properly transposed. It has also decided to send a Reasoned Opinion to Austria, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Greece, Spain and the United Kingdom for not transposing the 1997 Amended EIA Directive. A reasoned opinion is the final step in an infringement procedure before action in the European Court of Justice. |
