Press Release: Commission proposes continuation of school milk programme

The European Commission has adopted a proposal for a revised school milk programme. Under the proposal, the existing scheme will continue with new financing rules. In order to improve cost-effectiveness, the Commission proposes that either Member States or the milk industry provide 50% co-funding. As in the past, a quarter-litre of milk per day for those pupils taking part will be subsidised.
