Economic indicators:
Broad Economic Policy Guidelines. The Commission adopted on 25.2.98 a Communication on the economic situation in the EU called 'Growth and employment in the stability-oriented framework of EMU'. The report covers, in particular, employment policies in the context of intensified economic policy co-ordination in the final stages of economic and monetary union. This report is part of the preparation of the Broad Economic Policy Guidelines which will be adopted at the European Council, June 1998. This report replaces the Annual Economic Report for 1998.
