Single Market programme:
Informal Single Market Council, Cambridge, 14-15.2.98. Internal Market Ministers from the EU met in Cambridge to discuss ideas on how to make the Single Market more effective, in particular the Single Market Action Plan. This included ideas to reduce the burden of regulation on European companies; how to make sure that all Single Market rules are operating effectively and evenly throughout the EU; and how to ensure that companies can sell the same product in all Member States without bureaucratic obstacles such as additional testing, certification, etc.
