Report on science and technology indicators. The Commission has published its Second Report on Science and Technology Indicators. The report provides a detailed comparison of the research and innovation effort and performance across Europe and looks in detail at the fifty countries world-wide which devote the most resources to R&D. It notes a stagnation in European R&D efforts, in comparison to key economic powers, and advocates strong investment in research, innovation and human capital.
