Information is given on the major international organisations involving European countries, heads of state, parliaments, ministers, elections, political parties, justice, defence and treaties, dependencies, population and new countries. While it is almost impossible to obtain precisely comparable information about each country for the entire time span of the volume, efforts have been made to amass a consistent amount of information.
