The EU is hoping to reach a deal on a trade and cooperation agreement with South Africa by the end of this week

Although 85&percent; of the accord has already been settled, key issues remain to be thrashed out. These include South African demands for cuts in tariffs on its cars, textiles and steel, and extra concessions on sensitive EU agricultural products including cereals, dairy products and fresh and processed fruit.
