In a report due to be adopted today (29 May), the Commission criticises some governments for their failure to implement key EU legislation in the telecoms sector. The toughest opprobrium is aimed at Belgium, Greece, Portugal and Spain, and the report stresses that the Commission will use “expedited” procedures for bringing cases to the European Court of Justice when liberalisation measures are implemented late or incorrectly. It says the UK, Denmark, Finland and Sweden have implemented “virtually the entire package”.
