It seems that even high-flying MEPs sometimes have problems with freedom of movement across the EU.

Three times this year, French officials at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris have refused to recognise British Conservative MEP John Corrie's European Union laissez-passer - an official document which entitles the holder to move freely within the 15 member states.

As a result, on each occasion Corrie has been stopped from entering one of the airport terminals.

Entre Nous understands similar problems have been encountered at Frankfurt Airport.

Stung into action by the horrifying thought that its members could be prevented from carrying out vital missions opening conferences and speaking in television debates across the Union, the Parliament has fired off stiff letters to both airports.
