Date: 05/09/1996 last Saturday (31 August) to protest against EU plans to tighten laws on motorcycle specifications. The Federation of European Motorcyclists (FEM) has won support from MEPs in its campaign to ease the proposed 'multi-directive', which would limit the number of modifications bikers could make to their machines. The final shape of the new laws will be decided by a conciliation committee of MEPs and member state officials which is due to begin work in October. |
