Date: 30/01/1997 ...an EU member state for just two years, is the only country which has put every piece of Union social legislation on to its domestic statute book, according to a new Commission study. Sweden, Germany, Denmark and the UK, which all have a 96&percent; record, are also singled out for praise. But Social Affairs Commissioner Pádraig Flynn has called for more effort from Italy, Belgium, Greece, Portugal and particularly Spain, which has transposed just 36 out of 50 EU directives, warning they will face infringement proceedings if they fail to respond. |
