Date: 20/03/1997 Carlos Ferrer, who stood down as president of the Economic and Social Committee last year, has found another platform which should ensure that he does not lose touch with EU issues. Last week, the fiercely pro-European businessman and former head of the European employers' federation UNICE was elected president of the Spanish chambers of commerce. It is a role which, via the activities of the pan-European Eurochambres organisation, will keep Ferrer in close contact with Brussels. |
