Date: 19/09/1996 Some countries are never grateful. Despite receiving oodles of Euro-cash from Brussels, Spain seems to be pretty unimpressed with membership of the EU. The latest Eurobarometer shows that 68&percent; of the nation believes the country has not benefited since joining in 1986. When asked whether the EU was a good thing or a bad thing, 44&percent; said it was a bad thing. In answer to a separate question, 78&percent; said they had no confidence in the Commission. These figures far exceed any of the negative results the pollsters found in any other member state, making this cohesion country the least cohesive of the four. Has someone been saying more rude things about the barbarity (alleged) of bullfighting? |
