Date: 28/03/1996 was launched this week by Internal Market Commissioner Mario Monti. A team of industry experts, Commission officials and national representatives is to be given the task of simplifying notoriously complex or difficult-to-understand EU directives and regulations. They will tackle laws governing plants, construction products and the mutual recognition of diplomas first and trim other laws later. True to EU tradition, the project has been given an acronym - SLIM - Simpler Legislation for the Internal Market. |
