The Danish government has agreed to open the ferry route between Elsinore and Helsingborg in Sweden to outside competition

Copenhagen will offer alternative operators access to a facility in Elsinore port to give them equal treatment to the incumbent. Competition Commissioner Karel Van Miert wrote to the government saying the new ferry service should start no later than 1 June.
