Date: 09/11/1995 Not everyone is aggrieved by Environment Commissioner Ritt Bjerregaard's chat-and-tell diary. Fellow Commissioner Yves-Thibault de Silguy, for one, is pleased and honoured to have been mentioned at all, even if he was described as unorganised. “My relations with Mrs Bjerregaard are excellent and we work in absolute harmony” he said. What has really boosted Yves' ego is the fact that he was mentioned alongside such international figures as French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. “I'm very flattered to be with the big boys,” de Silguy admitted, with the kind of humility we don't always expect from our Commissioners. |
