At last, cocoa for PoCo

Last November, we reported that the upstairs bar in the Justus Lipsius building, while kept open for Council of Ministers, Coreper, K4 and Special Committee for Agriculture meetings, was closed during those of the Political Committee.

Could this lapse be intentional, wondered PoCo members, who see themselves as outsiders coming into town and competing with resident diplomats in Coreper. Whatever the motive, things have been altered since we revealed the shutdown in an article on PoCo just three months ago.

Coffee bar attendants confirm that the list posted at the bar has been changed since mid-December to add 'Comité Politique'. “We were told to put up revised signs,” one said.

A delighted PoCo member called us and said our revelation had done the trick. Glad to be of assistance.
