Upon a proposal from the European Commission the Council on 17 November 2005 adopted new rules on fees for registration of medicines for human and veterinary use at the European Medicines Agency (EMEA). A number of fees were to be reduced, reinforcing the principle of proportionality between the fees levels and the services provided by the Agency. The new regulation was to put the fees system in line with the new pharmaceutical legislation in the EU and the new responsibilities conferred to EMEA. |
