The European Commission on 22 November 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of several businesses assets of the Ford Group (Ford Lease Business Partner') by the French banking group Société Générale. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it.
