Berlusconi says he has done all he can to make Fazio quit

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told Parliament on 27 September 2005 he had done everything in his power to remove Antonio Fazio as Governor of the Bank of Italy. Mr Fazio's determination to hold on to his position in the wake of a banking scandal has created turmoil within the Italian Government.
