European Union plans to revise the Television Without Frontiers Directive are causing concern among UK internet service providers (ISPs), telecoms operators and other companies in high-tech industries. In its biggest review of broadcast regulation since 1989, the European Commission is due to decide by the end of 2005 the extent to which ISPs showing audio-visual programmes should abide by rules that apply to traditional television broadcasters.
